| Akron Alumni Chapter Spreads Holiday Cheer With Delivery Of Christmas Baskets |
|
The Akron Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. spread a little Christmas cheer to those in need, with the delivery of food items to several Akron residents, via their annual Christmas Basket Program. On the morning of December 19, 2008, Polemarch Abraham Wescott and Brothers Garry B. Ivey, Frank M. Williams, Cameron Mack, Henry Jones and Robert Garnett, Jr., got together to deliver the baskets to this years adopted families. They provided four families with a turkey, ham, stuffing, candied yams, green beans, corn, rice, gravy, and several extra items. The initiative has been a staple of Akron Alumni Chapter's agenda for twelve years. Of those twelve years, Bro. Garry B. Ivey has been the chairperson. Brother Ivey, who also serves the community as an officer with the Akron Police Department stated, "Programs such as this, is the reason why I joined the Fraternity." Here are a few photos from this years initiative: |
